Below are a few of the City's services you want to connect with the most often.  Whether you're calling in a pothole at 311, needing help to a dilapidated property with Housing Code Enforcement, checking your garbage schedule with Solid Waste, or looking to help improve your local park with the Parks Department, The City of Atlanta is easy connect with.

Neighborhood Clean-Up Guidelines/Dumpster Request
The Department of Public Works appreciates your time and resources in helping to keep Atlanta clean and beautiful. We would be happy to assist with your neighborhood clean-up project. We do ask that you adhere to certain guidelines for your event.  Please download a copy of the Clean-Up Guidelines.  A Dumpster Request Application is required if you would like to have us deliver a dumpster to your location.

 

ATLANTA 311

​The City of Atlanta is pleased to provide residents and customers with Atlanta 311 (ATL311). 311 is Atlanta’s primary phone number for government information and non-emergency services.Whether you’re a resident, business owner, or visitor, help is just a click or call away. We are building a strong foundation for successful, multi-channel operations.

​Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ATL311 Customer Service Center is closed on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.

HOUSING CODE ENFORCEMENT

The Bureau of Code Compliance is responsible for the inspection and enforcement of residential and commercial properties that violate the Atlanta Housing Code, Graffiti Ordinance, and/or Commercial Maintenance and Industrial Code. Properties are inspected for violations such as:

  • units not supplied with water or adequate heat,

  • rodent infestation or unsanitary conditions,

  • overgrown, littered vacant lots,

  • junk/inoperative vehicles,

  • graffiti,

  • open and vacant structures,

  • dilapidated buildings, and

  • numerous other deficiencies which render properties substandard, or unsafe to its occupants or the general public.

SOLID WASTE

Household garbage, recycling and yard trimmings are collected weekly on the scheduled collection day. For questions regarding pick up service, please contact the Customer Service Call Center Monday - Friday, 8:15 am - 5:00 pm at 311 or visit atl311.com.
For garbage collection, or to receive a trash bin call 311.

Residential Curbside Recycling

Residential curbside recycling is for household paper, cardboard, glass, cans, and plastics numbered 1-5 & 7. Recycling collection is the same day as garbage collection. Please use your City-issued blue recycling cart or a larger container clearly labeled "RECYCLING".
All recyclables may be placed together in the cart. The item will be separated at the recycling processing facility. The only thing that should be bagged is shredded paper in a clear bag. All recycling must be clean and dry.

Reporting a down tree
Call the Parks Customer Service Call Center at 404.546.6813 for park maintenance requests, trees down in the street, and requests for inspection of a City-owned tree. Open weekdays 7:30am - 4:30pm. Nights, weekends and holidays, call 911 to report trees down in the street.
